Breeding the American Cream--it's worth It!

An ACEY (American Cream) with many Buhund
characteristics. The lop-ears are from the labrador genes.
Norsk (Norwegian) Buhund
Called an "American Cream" because their faces turn white.  Just a few photos of Suzi Q, an American cream... to create this kind of dog, use Norwegian Buhunds (or, perhaps, the Swedish Buhund/spitz ) with labradors and border collies.  You can have the Buhund and border collie mix on one side and the lab on the other. The lab should be the mother so there is room in the pelvis for the larger pups.  The offspring from the first breeding should be bred with the offspring form a different pair. Ideally, have at least three pairs.  In other words, you'll need 6 dogs to begin the breeding project (2 buhunds, male, to mate with 2 border collies, female:  their offspring mates with 2 different, carefully selected (I used guide dog breeding lines) black labs.  Do not use yellow labs.

The next generation of puppies: choose the strongest, healthiest, most intelligent, most affectionate...should be natural retrievers and courageous. You are breeding for smarts, not markings. Most markings are like a border collie's.  Hair should not mat. There are two shedding seasons, but this dog does well in all climates where any collie can live.
